On Monday, two Palestinian young men allegedly carried out a shooting in occupied Jerusalem, killing six Israelis and injuring many others, before being killed at the scene. Media sources said that six Israelis were killed and at least eleven others were wounded, some seriously after two Palestinian men opened fire with live ammunition at a bus station at the Ramot Junction, north of occupied Jerusalem. Arabs48 news website published the names of the two slain men accused of the shooting, who were killed at the scene; they were identified as Muthanna Naji Omar, 20, and Muhammad Bassam Taha, 21, adding that the army stormed their homes and abducted their family members. It quoted the Israeli Army Radio who stated that the alleged perpetrators “had no security records and did not possess entry permits to Israel,” adding that the army has imposed a siege on the towns and villages of Qatanna, Biddu, Beit Anan, and Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem. According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center (Silwanic), the slain young man, Mothanna Omar, 20, was from the village of Al-Qubeiba, while Muhammad Taha, 21, was from the town of Qatanna. In response, occupation forces erected several military roadblocks, closing the entrances to many towns and villages in the area, and abducted a young man in the At-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem, accusing him of transporting the alleged perpetrators. According to Israeli police, the alleged attackers arrived at a bus station at the Ramot Junction and proceeded to open fire at a crowd of Israelis, before two Israelis, including a security officer, shot and killed them. In a statement, the Israeli army announced that their forces have surrounded several Palestinian villages near Ramallah purportedly to “thwart terrorism, and are conducting investigations and field searches to bolster defense efforts along the contact line.” The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, released a statement maintaining that the shooting is a natural reaction to the brutal crimes that Israel continues to commit against the people of the Gaza Strip. The group asserted that the shooting “confirms the determination of our revolutionary youth and our valiant resistance to continue on the path of resistance and confront the fascist Zionist aggression.” The Times of Israel identified the Israelis killed in the attack as Levi Yitzhak Pash, 57, Yaakov Pinto, 25, Yisrael Matzner, 28, and Rabbi Yosef David, 43, Rabbi Mordechai Steintzag, 79, and Sarah Mendelson, 60. The same source reported that Israeli police found improvised “Carlo” submachine guns, a knife, and ammunition at the scene. Media sources reported that Israeli forces invaded the towns of Qatanna, Biddu, and al-Qubeiba, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, sparking protests. The sources added that soldiers stormed the town of Qatanna, abducted a number of citizens from a residential building while firing tear gas canisters; no injuries were reported. After invading the town of Biddu, Israeli forces opened fire with live rounds and concussion grenades; no injuries were reported. Meanwhile, on Monday evening, the army stormed the Qalandia refugee camp and the town of Ar-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem, in addition to the town of Abu Dis, to the east. Media sources said that occupation forces invaded the towns of Ar-Ram and Abu Dis, assaulting a young man in Abu Dis. After erecting a flying military roadblock at the entrance to the Qalandia camp, soldiers detained, searched, and abused Palestinians.
