On 15 January 2026, an IED, suspected to have been planted by a Zamfara militia, detonated after a motorcycle ran over it along the Takalafiya-Gadar Zaima Road, coded to the nearest village, Gadar Zaima in Kyaram (Bukkuyum, Zamfara), injuring 5 people. The explosion destroyed the motorcycle. There were no fatalities.
