On 31 December 2025, in Thandwe town (Thandwe township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike and dropped 500-lb bombs with a fighter jet that fell and exploded on Mar Ya street of the No.1 ward around 7:28 pm. 3 civilians were injured and seven houses were destroyed.
