On 31 December 2025, in Belize City, Belize, in the evening, a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire on a man and his niece inside a truck at the corner of Waight Street and Faber's Road (drive-by). Both victims were injured and the man later died of his injuries. Police described the attack as being gang-related, stating that the victim was currently under investigation in court for being a gang member, that the attack took place in an area known for gang activity and that the targeted vehicle was tied to a gang. The victim's family denied any gang affiliations and claimed that the owner of the vehicle was the intended target. 1 fatality.
