On 31 December 2025, in Guayaquil - Letamendi (Guayas), an unknown number of armed assailants on a motorcycle fatally shot a man in a drive-by shooting on streets 19 and 4 de Noviembre. The fatal victim was a university professor, and authorities confirmed that he was a collateral victim. No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing. 1 fatality.
