On 31 December 2025, in the afternoon, an armed group (likely JNIM militants, based on location) attacked the town of Madouba (Madouba, Kossi, Boucle du Mouhoun). A total of 7 people were killed, including 1 soldier, 1 police officer, 4 VDP and 1 civilian. 1 soldier was missing. The police station, several houses and shops were also burned by the militants.
