On 29 December 2025, Turkish police forces (including watchmen and Special Operations) raided a safe house in Ismet Pasa Neighborhood in Yalova town following intelligence indicating that IS was planning armed attacks in Istanbul and Ankara around the New Year. An armed clash broke out between police and IS militants, leaving 3 Turkish police officers dead, 8 police officers and one watchman injured, and 6 IS militants killed. Also 5 women and 6 children that were inside the house (family members of militants) were evacuated without any injuries.
