On 29 December 2025, 2 groups (described as Pading and Riang community members, and coded as Gun section of the Lou Nuer community, based on location) clashed in the Lankien area of Nyambor Payam (location coded to Dakriang, the nearest known location in Nyirol County, Jonglei State), resulting in at least 9 fatalities and 9 injuries. The perpetrators who first attacked Riang were pushed back, but they later returned, briefly took control of Riang, before being pushed out again.
