On 28 December 2025, in Kyauk Me Taung village (Dawei township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the Eastern Defense Force (EDF) near the Kyauk Me Taung police station after the EDF planned to attack the police station. The two sides then exchanged fire for about 30 minutes. Some military troops were killed and injured. There were an unspecified number of fatalities. Unspecified fatalities coded as 3.
