On 28 December 2025, in Altos (Piaui), four unidentified armed suspects broke into the house of an off-duty military police officer and injured him. The suspects pretended to be police officers to approach and fire against the man, who fired back. An armed clash took place and the suspects escaped. The authorship and motivations are unknown. There were no fatalities.
