On 28 December 2025, in Guayaquil - Ximena (Guayas), an unknown number of armed assailants fired several shots at three men as they were standing on the streets of Guasmo North talking. Two men died at the scene, and the third victim succumbed to his wounds in the hospital. One of the victims had a prior criminal record for robbery. No arrests were made and the motive remains unknown. 3 fatalities.
