On 28 December 2025, JNIM claimed to have targeted the Malian army and Africa Corps escorting a convoy of fuel trucks, using an IED between Bougouni and Bamako, coded to Ouelessebougou (Ouelessebougou, Kati, Koulikoro), a midpoint on the road between the two locations. Casualties unknown.
