On 28 December 2025, Azande Ani Kpi Gbe militia clashed against FACA in Bambouti (Bambouti, Haut-Mbomou) and prevented the conduct of elections. Combatant Casualties unknown. The clashes caused the soldiers to abandon their positions, weapons, and uniforms while escaping toward the MINUSCA base or South Sudan. The sub-prefect of Bambouti, an ANE agent, and a gendarme were abducted. The gendarme was later killed.
