Armed resistance groups announced that they attacked military bases in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in clashes between junta troops and local resistance forces, according to a statement released today by Chio Mai Mai – Kani.

On January 11, the day the junta attempted to hold its planned election, People’s Defense Forces attacked several military-held sites in Budalin Township — including the Budalin police station, the office of the township general administration, and the Khon Min Gyi monastery compound, which had been used as a military polling station, the statement said.
