On 27 December 2025, in Banmauk town (Banmauk township, Katha district, Sagaing region), fighting broke out between a joint force of the Myanmar military and the Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) and a combined force of the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) and allies at around 5:00 am. The Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped 2 bombs during the armed clash at around 7:00 am. The Myanmar military conducted another airstrike and dropped 2 bombs on the Myo Ma market during the armed clash at around 9:00 am. The market was destroyed. Casualties unknown.
