On 27 December 2025, near Aguilera, Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, unknown armed individuals on a motorcycle chased two teenage men traveling in a vehicle on the federal highway 185 between Aguilera and Sayula de Aleman and shot them at the height of the junction to the ranch Las Margaritas (drive-by). Both men died as a result. 2 fatalities.
