On 27 December 2025, Russian forces launched a drone strike at the positions of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) in the Ukrainian-controlled part of Zaporizhia region (coded to Zaporizhia, Zaporizhia region). Casualties unknown. Denys Kapustin, the RDK leader, was reported killed but was later confirmed to be alive, after the Ukrainian HUR channeled money from the Russian government for his assasination.
