On 27 December 2025, overnight, ENDF, Amhara regional riot police, and Kebele militia clashed with Fano in Maksegnit and its surroundings in Jabi Tehnan Woreda (location coded to the nearest known town Jiga, Jabi Tehnan, West Gojjam, Amhara), leading to the killings of forces on both sides. 1 civilian who was in close vicinity was killed in a crossfire. The state security forces deployed from Jiga, Genet Abo, and Finote-Selam initiated the clash, using heavy mechanized weapons to control the Fano forces operating in the area. The clash intensified with Fano's counteroffensive strikes. Fatalities coded as 4 (unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3 + 1 civilian killed in the crossfire).
