On 26 December 2025, in Lay Nyar village (Bokpyin township, Kawthoung district, Tanintharyi region), a combined force of the Dragon Squad - TNI, the People's Defense Force - Kawthoung District (Battalion-1), the Special Operation Force, and the People's Defense Force - Bokpyin (PaKaPha) conducted drone strikes against Myanmar military troops while they were planning to set up a polling station at about 8 am. In response, the military indiscriminately returned fire. 5 military troops, including a military officer, were killed. 5 fatalities.
