On 26 December 2025, in Banmauk town (Banmauk township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped a 500-pound bomb on Banmauk Myo Ma Market at around 5:30 am and another bomb on the residence of the staff of a hospital. About 100 shops and a residence building were destroyed. There were no casualties.
