On 26 December 2025, the Taliban intelligence chief's assistant was killed and his son wounded in an explosion inside their house in the Bothkhak area of Kabul city. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Some sources stated the blast may have involved explosives concealed inside a gas cylinder, while the Taliban confirmed the death but claimed the incident was caused by a gas cylinder explosion. 1 fatality.
