On 26 December 2025, in La Mucura (Riohacha, La Guajira), unidentified individuals shot and killed a Wiwa Indigenous leader just a few meters from his home, in front of his family members. The victim was a member of the Wiwa Yugumaiun Bunkuanarrua Tayrona organization (OWYBT). There is no further information on the motives or perpetrators of the attack. The area is known for the presence of the Gulf Clan, the ACSN, and local gangs. 1 fatality.
