On 26 December 2025, in Chachagui (Narino), an unidentified armed individual fired multiple shots at the residence of a local councilor (CR) in the early morning hours before fleeing. The official was unharmed in the attack but has denounced receiving threats over the past two years. There is no further information on the motives or perpetrators of the attack. There were no casualties.
