On 26 December 2025, explosive devices planted by unknown gunmen inside Imam Ali Bin Abi Talib Mosque, an Alawite-affiliated mosque in in the Homs - Wadi al-Thahab neighborhood of Homs city, detonated during Friday prayers, killing 8 people and injuring 27 others, including 3 children. Sources claimed that a group calling itself 'Saraya Ansar al-Sunna' circulated a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. 8 fatalities.
