On 26 December 2025, QSD sniper fire from Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafiyya neighborhoods targeted a police forces's checkpoint at the Shihan roundabout in Aleppo - Shihan neighborhood in Aleppo city, injuring a police member. The checkpoint was organizing civilian traffic at the time and police units responded to the source of fire. Syrian military forces of Syria cut the road between Aleppo - Shihan and Aleppo - Al-Layramoun roundabouts after the attack and sent reinforcements to the area. Casualties unknown.
