On 25 December 2025, in Nam Pawng village (Myitkyina township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) conducted drone strikes and fired heavy weapons into the air base of the Myanmar military at around 10:00 am. A Mi-17 jet and two K8W jet fighters were destroyed. Casualties unknown.
