On 25 December 2025, in Bhamo town (Bhamo township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Kachin Independence Army (KIA/KIO) attacked the bases of the Myanmar military inside the town for the first day. The Myanmar military conducted airstrikes during the armed clashes. At least 3 military soldiers (a Tactical Operation Commander of IB-47, a Battalion Commander and a Deputy Battalion Commander) were killed. At least 3 fatalities.
