On 25 December 2025, in Thar Si village (Salin township, Minbu district, Magway region), local people's defense forces attacked around 170 Myanmar military troops stationed at a monastery that were transporting ammunition in five vehicles around 7 pm with small and heavy weapons. During the armed clash, the military fired heavy weapons and the vehicles that were transporting ammunition caught on fire and exploded. At least 45 military soldiers were killed. The monastery and a house were also destroyed. 45 fatalities coded.
