On 25 December 2025, in Guayaquil - Tarqui (Guayas), several armed subjects shot and killed a young man in the Sauces 6 sector of the Modelo District. He was walking when he was shot. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting. Authorities collected 11 spent 9-millimeter cartridge cases. Authorities suspected the killing could be related to territorial disputes over drug trafficking. The victim's mother denied that he was involved in any conflict. 1 fatality.
