On 25 December 2025, in Daule (Daule, Guayas), an unknown number of armed assailants on a motorcycle fired several shots in the air, during a pursuit of a target (drive-by). One of the bullets hit a young boy in the head, injuring him severely. He was hospitalized, and died two days later due to the severity of his wounds. No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing. 1 fatality.
