On 25 December 2025, the Nigerian military launched a joint air and ground attack on Boko Haram (JAS), killing at least 10 near the Bama axis, coded to the nearest town, Bama (Bama, Borno). Several of their commanders were killed, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
