On 24 December 2025, in Ah Lu Gyi village (Bilin township, Thaton district, Mon state), two artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military landed in front of the Khat Tar monastery at around 12 pm. The Karen Information Center News and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that that 3 civilian women were killed, while Shwe Phee Myay News Agency and the initial report of Khit Thit Media reported that 2 civilians were killed. A later report of Khit Thit Media reported that 3 civilians were killed. Fatalities coded as 3, using the most recent estimates.
