On 24 December 2025, a joint team of the CRPF and the Special Operations Group (SOG) clashed with Naxal-Maoist cadres in Gumma forest under Belaghar police limits (Kandhamal district, Odisha) in an anti-Maoist operation based on precise intelligence provided by the special intelligence wing (SIW). Two Naxal-Maoist cadres with a combined bounty of nearly Rs 2400000 were killed. Security forces recovered one revolver, one .303 rifle, and one walkie-talkie set, along with other incriminating materials from the site.
