On 24 December 2025, in Lejamani, Comayagua, members of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) shot and killed a man in a targeted attack. His partner died in a traffic accident while attempting to flee the scene. Authorities indicated that the motive was likely related to personal disputes with the criminal group. Police later arrested two suspected MS-13 members, aged 16 and 18, during a house raid in the village of Liconas. The suspects were found in possession of drugs, firearms, ammunition, and clothing used by police forces. 2 fatalities.
