IED event in Moscow, Moscow - Southern area, Russian Federation on Wed 24th December 2025

On 24 December 2025, an individual activated a high-explosive fragmentation bomb when 2 police officers approached him on a parking lot at the Yeletskaya street in Moscow - Southern. According to the local law enforcement, the man was coerced by the online scammers working for the Security Service of Ukraine to set up a 300 gram explosive under a police car. 2 patrol officers spotted a suspicious man and approached him. Seeing the policemen, the man, likely in panic, activated the device, killing both himself and the officers. The police car was severely damaged. Coded as 3 fatalities. The incident took place only 300 meters away from a place where on December 22nd a Russian general was blown up by a car bomb (coded separately). After the fact, the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence stated that both deceased police officers previously served in Ukraine where they engaged in torturing of Ukrainian PoWs.
