On 24 December 2025, OLF-OLA clashed with Kebele militias in Mendida (location coded to the admin center, Bake Kelate, Abuna Ginde Beret, West Shewa, Oromia), resulting in 5 people being killed, including 2 bystanders, 2 militia members, and a Kebele administrator. The clash began when members of the Kebele militia attempted to enforce tax collection among residents, prompting OLF-OLA fighters to intervene and stop the collection.
