On 23 December 2025, in Nwe Ta Mei village (Salin township, Minbu district, Magway region), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the People's Defense Force (under NUG) and allies near the Nwe Ta Mei bridge from 5:30 am to 11:30 am. During the armed clash, the military conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs with Y-12 planes, MI-35 helicopters and fighter jets and fired heavy weapons from Sinphyukyun town. Around 20 locals were injured.
