On 23 December 2025, off the Coast of Gressier, Ouest, coast guards from the National Police of Haiti engaged in clashes with armed gang members on board of five vessels as they attacked a convoy of 13 merchant sailing boats whose final destination was the Gonave island. During clashes, several gang members and a civilian crew member were killed. There were no casualties among the coast guards. One gang vessel was destroyed. Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3, including the killed civilian.
