On 23 December 2025, in Guayaquil - Pascuales (Guayas), a teenager was shot and killed in front of his school. He was intercepted while riding a tricycle with his mother in Block 1 of Bastion Popular and forced into another tricycle. His attackers were riding several motorcycles in addition to the tricycle motorcycle. They took him to his school, where they shot him ten times as other students were leaving a Christmas activity. His mother later received a call telling her that he had been killed at the school. 1 fatality.
