On 23 December 2025, a suspected ISWAP/Boko Haram (JAS) suicide bomber detonated explosives inside a mosque in Gamboru (Maiduguri Metro, Borno), killing between 4 and 5 worshippers and injuring 35 others. The attack occurred during the sunset prayers. 4 fatalities coded as per the lowest estimate available.
