On 23 December 2025, ISWAP militants armed with rifles clashed with military forces after attacking an outpost of the Multi-National Joint Task Force post in Ngouma (Logone-et-Chari, Extreme-Nord), killing 1 soldier and capturing weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment. As they withdrew, they abducted four civilians (two adults and two children), amongst whom were two medical personnel from their residences.
