On 23 December 2025, former Anti-Balaka members, coded as an unidentified armed group, ambushed and clashed with UPC at a UPC checkpoint at the Kouki mining site (Nana-Bakassa, Ouham). 1 former militia member was killed, and another was injured in the leg. The attackers fled, and the UPC launched an internal investigation to identify the attackers.
