SAA event in Cortes, San Pedro Sula area, Honduras on Mon 22nd December 2025

On 22 December 2025, in San Pedro Sula, Cortes, two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle shot and killed a man while he was inside a parked Ford F-150 vehicle in the Rio de Piedras neighborhood. The victim, identified as a DJ and co-owner of a nightclub, was found dead at the scene with approximately ten gunshot wounds. Authorities suspect this attack is linked to two other killings: the 20 December shooting of a civil engineer in the Villas Mackay residential area and the 23 December killing of a man in Los Andes (coded separately). All three victims were shot while inside their vehicles. A suspected member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) has been arrested in connection with the attacks, and authorities seized an AR-15 rifle, a Five-Seven pistol, a shotgun, two fragmentation grenades, and various calibers of ammunition. The attacks are suspected to be linked to targeted killings by a high-profile hitman cell within MS-13. 1 fatality.
