On 22 December 2025, in Santarem (Para), military police officers clashed with drug traffickers during an approach along the city waterfront, resulting in a physical confrontation in which a suspect fled with a police officer's firearm. One individual was injured by a gunshot during the clash. Later the same day, police located and arrested a suspect in the Diamantino neighborhood, recovering the stolen firearm. A revolver, 39 packets of marijuana, ammunition, and three mobile phones were seized in connection with the incident. There were no fatalities.
