On 22 December 2025, in San Isidro (Manabi), at least 20 unidentified armed individuals dressed as police and military officers and moving in three vans shot and killed seven persons, including a pregnant woman and two municipal workers, in the Chimborazo community, Las Canteras sector. The victims were extracting rock material in a quarry. Some were killed inside the quarry and others in a nearby house. 7 fatalities.
