On 22 December 2025, Wazalendo attacked and clashed with elements of M23 in civilian clothing remaining in the area despite the announcement of their withdrawal in Uvira (Uvira, Sud-Kivu), including the districts of Kalundu, Mulongwe, and Kasenga. A shell was fired by an unidentified armed group (likely Wazalendo as they attacked the city) and destroyed a house in the Mulongwe district. Casualties unknown.
