On 21 December 2025, a suspected AQAP IED exploded targeting the vehicle of the commander of the 3rd Brigade of the STC Shabwani Defense Forces in Al Uqlah area (coded to Al Uqlah Junction) (Arma, Shabwah). The commander and his guard survived what was labelled an 'assassination attempt'.
