On 21 December 2025, in Duran (Guayas), two armed individuals shot and killed five persons, including a teenager, inside a house where a party was taking place in the 5 de Junio cooperative. They were moving on a motorcycle in a drive-by shooting. A relative of the victims claims that the target of the attack was a woman who had just arrived from Chile. Authorities suspect that the target was another victim, who is suspected of being related to the Chone Killers and who had conflicts with members of the Latin Kings gang. 5 fatalities.
