On 20 December 2025, unidentified gunmen opened fire indiscriminately in Saboura village in rural Hama, killing two civilians who are Alawite sect members and injuring between three to five civilians including a fourteen-year-old boy. Locals accuse Syrian police members who were nearby of failing to prevent the attack for sectarian reasons. On 27 December, one of the injured civilian succumbed to his injuries. 3 fatalities.
