On 19 December 2025, in Popayan (Cauca), police forces safely defused a car bomb suspected to have been assembled by unspecified FARC dissidents. A suspect had abandoned the vehicle outside a police station in the Bolivar neighborhood after being discovered by police forces, who fired several warning shots, causing him to crash and flee with the support of other individuals. Authorities suspect that the collision disabled the detonation system, thwarting the suspect's attempt to detonate the car. There is no further information at this time. There were no casualties.
